Title of Work: The doll on the shelf.
As a child, I had a shelf full of dolls. Even though I had no interest in playing with them, an overwhelming sense of guilt hung over me, due to the lack of attention I gave to the dolls. So, over the years the dolls were given to children I hoped would enjoy them more than I did.
This image symbolises a pivotal era of my childhood and reminds me all toys deserve love and to be played with, and not “left on the shelf”.
The moral of the piece, respect and always love the things around us.
